My last update I wanted to post about tonight is some news on my CCENT goal.  I’m nearly complete with my study book.  I feel pretty good about how far I’ve gotten too, since I’ve mostly been doing it in free time before work and during lunch.  I’ve got  most of it down at this point too.  What is most exciting though is that I’m done with all the boring basics and theory and background stuff and the last 3 sections cover Cisco specific things like the IOS, configuring routers and switches, and specific routing protocols.  i.e. the actual real world applicable stuff that you can use someday!

Anyway, tomorrow I’m going to schedule my exam with Pearson Vue testing for November 30th.  This should give me more than enough time to finish the book, spend a week studying my flash cards and tests, and a week or two studying the additional tests that come with the software in the book, as well as applying what I’ve learned in a simulated (and fortunately because of where I work, a real) Cisco environment.

The other added benefit of scheduling the exam is that it will motivate me to actually study the information and spend the time making sure I’m going to pass, since it costs $125.00 to take the exam lol.  Anyway.. As I get closer I’ll keep you all up to date!
